Norvell Theater
Welcome to the Norvell Theater! The Norvell is home to Piedmont Players' Youth Programs. Included in these programs are 5 youth productions per season, seasonal educational workshops, and summer theatre camps.
On May 20, 2010 the NEW Norvell Theater opened with the youth production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Over sixty young people were involved in making this Old Testament story, retold with a modern musical twist by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, a reality. The Norvell Theater has established a new era of youth theatre for Piedmont Players. Students are involved in every aspect of the production, from ushering and concessions to backstage. Even the orchestra is comprised of student musicians!
The 2010-2011 flagship season at the Norvell included 2 musicals and 3 'straight plays.' Local youth tackled the tragedy of Romeo & Juliet, the comedy of Ramona Quimby, the classic tales of The Lion, the Witch, & the Wardrobe, and two SOLD OUT musicals (Disneys THE JUNGLE BOOK Kids! and Grease)!
The 2011-2012 Season is sure to be just as successfull and exciting! Visit the show pages above to learn more about the fantastic work that the youth in our community is doing. See you at the theater!
